Director of Community Relations and Development
Beau Vastine is Director of Community Relations and Development at Brighter Bites. His primary responsibilities include the development and implementation of fundraising, grant writing, and philanthropy strategies, while also building and maintaining relationships within the communities we serve.
Generating funding for nonprofit organizations is a central passion for Beau. He initially fostered this interest by being elected to Vice President of Habitat for Humanity – Greenup County Chapter in Northern Kentucky. After two years of service to Habitat, Beau discovered that his skill set met his newfound purpose –- to develop funds and identify resources for nonprofits that assist individuals and families. He went on to become a Development Fundraiser at Southern Ohio Medical Center where his work helped raise over $1M dollars in funds over a two-year period within an economically depressed region.
Beau has also held development positions at the American Red Cross and, most recently, at the American Heart Association in Houston, where he was Vice President of Development managing the Heart Walk campaign.
Beau holds an MBA from Tiffin University in northern Ohio and an undergraduate degree in business information systems from the University of Phoenix. Originally from Ohio, he now lives in Houston, TX with his wife and newborn son August. Beau enjoys playing drums, music, running, and biking the city’s trails.
