Magaly Solis

Program Coordinator
Brighter Bites, Dallas

Magaly has a passion for making a difference in kids’ lives. She tutored low-income, first-generation, aspiring college students through the AVID program in Austin, TX. Her middle school students turned to her for help not only with their core courses, but also with questions about the college application process. Magaly attended the University of Texas graduating with a B.S. in Public Health. During her second year she participated in a university research project that studied the effect of English-to-Spanish translation on children of non-English speaking parents in Mexican-American families. As a native Spanish speaker, Magaly communicated with these families in their primary language and observed the importance of community outreach firsthand. The Brighter Bites core values reflect Magaly’s two true passions: health education and the ability to impact young minds in a positive way.
